Sister publications of ESG Clarity, Diversity Q and Information Age are running a virtual summit for women in technology
Running from 30 June to 2 July 2020, the event will share knowledge and experience from individuals across the sector as well as recognise the achievements of women working in IT.
Global economies, industries, workforces and families have been turned upside down amid the covid-19 pandemic with forced remote working schemes, virtual meetings, new digital platforms, furloughs, frozen budgets and redundancies sadly part of the current landscape. All of these will affect talent, development, diversity and inclusion
As we approach what might be the ‘new normality’ factors are emerging and need to be evaluated, but it is imperative leaders prioritise inclusion as we work through economic and social recovery from coronavirus.
Organisations are much more likely to be innovative if they seek input from a diverse group of employees who approach problems with a varied perspective. It would be a real shame if we allow the work that has already been done, and what has already been achieved, to be halted or hindered.
The Women in IT Virtual Summit will explore what the ‘new normal’ may look like for leaders in technology and how we can continue to work together to ensure gender parity and greater inclusion.
Speakers, which includes Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, president at techUK, Joanne Webb, former digital director for Merlin Entertainments, Caroline Gorski, group director at R2 Data Labs, Barbara Gottardi, CIO at HSBC, and Diversity Q editor Cheryl Cole, will explore how companies have adapted to digital, innovation in a time of crisis, digital recruitment practices and what the new workplace may look like.
